in critical condition after attack

Dear Dante,

In the name of Fr. General - he is currently in Nemi - I would like to inform you that on Friday, November 18, at 11 p.m., local time, Fr. Provincial Patricio de los Reyes was brutally attacked by robbers at the SVD provincialate in Francistown Botswana. Since we don't know whether news of this has already reached the Philippines, we wish to inform you. The first news of this reached the generalate this morning. In the meantime we have received some further information from the confreres in Botswana.

Pat was hit over the head and in the face and other parts of the body. He had three deep wounds on his head. Still conscious he was taken to the hospital by Br. Charles Ashun SVD. As of noon of November 19 he was in intensive care, unconscious. The doctors were able to remove blood from the brain. But his condition is critical. Everything will be done for him.

Please find a way to inform the family of Pat. Let us continue to pray for Pat and ask others to do likewise.
